How To Measure

To insure a correct fit for your door, door frame and door jamb for the Rebar Door Security Device, there are only 4 easy measurements to take into account.

1. The thickness of the door.

2. The distance between the door handle latch and deadbolt lock.

3. The gap between the door and door frame / door jamb.

4.  If you have sidelight windows, you must measure the distance from the edge of the door frame / door jamb to the edge of the sidelight window.

Here are the most commonly asked questions:

Q-Will the Rebar Door Security Device fit the gap between my door and door frame / door jamb?

A-You will require at least 1/16” (the thickness of a .50 piece or Canadian $2 coin) for the 14 gauge Rebar DSD24X, DSD48 or DSD48X to fit properly.

Q-Will the Rebar Door Security Device fit my door frame if I have sidelight windows?

A-Yes, ALL Rebar Door Security Device models are designed and engineered to fit doors with sidelight windows. Simply measure the distance from the edge of the door frame and jamb to the edge of the sidelight window and use a shorter screw than that distance.

Q-Will I have to cut or alter my door frame or door?

A-No, you will not have to cut or alter your door or door frame and Jamb. This is because our engineers have designed the Rebar Door Security Device to be the only “Fit All Flat Design” door frame reinforcement that is mounted directly over top of the existing strike plates on the door so there are no complicating modifications that have to be done.

Q- How do I know what model to choose for my doors?

A- Measure the thickness of your door, the distance between the door handle latch and deadbolt and select the correct models for your measurements from the http://kickproof.com/On_Sale_Now.php page.
